The 2022 hosts of the World Cup shown their inabilities to finish off another quality team in Uzbekistan. What was the keeper doing let alone the two misses that followed. European and South American nations will be begging to be drawn in the same group as this lot going on this finishing.

Ever thought about becoming a football team physio? What qualifications and skills do you think you would require? Would zonal marking and heading be included?  Well in this Dutch league game it is the defending teams physio that gallantly saves the day without a bucket or cold sponge in sight!

There is a skill in taking a penalty - that is for sure and over the years we have seen some of the worlds best players fail from the spot. Yes, some of those moments have come under extreme pressure but we have also seen professional players make a complete hash of things too. So in this clip we see an unexpected penalty taker showing the rest how it should be done with some style before he celebrates with his friend in a lap of honour.

On this blog we have seen informative, funny, brutal - and now creating a new level of dumbness I present this short clip from Belarus between Torpedo Zhodino and bottom of the league Dnepr Mogilev. It is a good job that the Zhodino goalkeeper did not choose a career which could actually put human life at risk as he would have to come with a strong health warning. To the fans of his team he probably still does need that kind of warning for all of those who have had heart problems since witnessing this. Note - you will not really see what this keeper did until the replay and the "oy-oy-oy" comments from the non-impressed commentators.

The classified football results - usually read out with no jokes, quips - just a sollen voice. So to my surprise when the FA Cup 1st Round results were being read out a joke was included.

At least I hope it was a joke! Or are we really at the stage that this is what we think of the FA Cup these days? Especially non-league teams would see the whole town get behind them on such a magical day and even if we have not had a dream draw, lets win the game and see what the next round brings us. Not any more so it would seem in Salisbury where the market took centre stage over the football (if we believe the results reader!)
