The following video shows the lunatic fringes have spread to Tanzania - perhaps they have been on this blog and been watching too many South American clips! The biggest curiosity has to be the referee as I am trying to work out what he is doing. It is difficult to make out what is in his mindset as surely as soon as the first punch was thrown he should be straight out of there and the match should be abandoned (in my opinion and that is what I would be doing in his shoes). It's almost as if he is asking for more trouble.

The other point worth raising is the guilty player shown in this clip - Stephano Mwasika of the Young Africans Sports Club (aka "Yanga") could be banned for up to one whole year (which is the maximum allowed in this league). Whether it is this incident, the infamous Cantona kung-fu kick into the crowd or many of the other attacks on match officials as seen on this blog, I cannot believe that any of these players will be allowed to play again - ever! If you have ever played or been involved at grass roots football in England for example, I guarantee you that for a lot less than you see going on here, you could easily be receiving a sine-die ban which in affect would see you potentially banned from playing for life and that includes any affiliated football team or league. And here we are all thinking that we really are all playing under the same set of rules - yeah right.

Note - there is no sound on this clip but just having the visual gets the message across without any problems.

Shocking tackles, fights and just more and more moments that make us go "ouch!" Sometimes you just have to question the sanity of some of these players!

Note - Although this is a blog featuring some nasty stuff - you will NOT find for example horrific leg breaks or video of incidents such as Fabrice Muamba's collapsing. If you are looking for that kind of material - you will not find it here.
